Explanation:

Each videotape contains four episodes of "Christianity On Trial" which has previously been shown on the Trinity Broadcasting Network at least four times over 300 stations. Each episode is 27 minutes and 40 seconds. The tapes feature Dr. John Warwick Montgomery as commentator and Dr. Charles L. Manske as moderator and producer as they discuss a Christian defense (apologetics) of the Christian faith.

The videotape cassettes are available in 1/2 inch VHS format only (not beta, not 8mm, not digital and not on audio cassette)

Each tape is ideal for a one-hour discussion group or bible class with 27 minutes for the tape and 33 minutes for discussion. With each order we feature a leader's discussion guide for advance preparation. Also included is a free participant discussion guide that can be reduplicated in any quantity and distributed to the group. (Videotape #119 does NOT include the free discussion guide while all the other tapes do.) Also a one-sentence description of each video program is included which can be included in church bulletins or newspaper advertisements of the discussion event.

1. From the Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt, Germany where Luther discovered that man is saved by faith without the works of the law. Dr. John W. Montgomery lectures with questions by American students & scholars.

2. "HOW DO WE GET TO HEAVEN" ANGEL AWARD WINNER OF 1992 FOR BEST IN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMING. From the Castle Church in Wittenberg where Luther posted the 95 theses on the church door on October 31, 1 51 7, and where statues inside the church commemorate Reformation heroes. Luther is buried here.

3. "LUTHER AND THE SCRIPTURES"

Filmed at the Wartburg Castle where Luther translated the scriptures into German while he was hiding from authorities. Dr. J. Montgomery leads the discussion.

4. "WHO WAS MARTIN LUTHER?"

From the home of Martin Luther at Wittenberg University, the place where Luther taught, lived and preached. It is now the home of the Luther Museum. Dr. J. Montgomery lectures and answers questions about Martin Luther.

VIDEOTAPE #119 THE REFORMATION AND ITS INFLUENCE (NO DISCUSSION OUTLINES)

1. "THE HEROISM OF THE REFORMATION"

The Reformation Statue at Worms commemorates Lutheran, Reformed and pre-Reformation scholars. Each scholar is explained with his contribution. Worms is where Luther gave the famous speech, "Here I Stand." Dr. John Montgomery gives the lecture and leads us in a discussion with Reformation students.

2. "THE INVENTION OF PRINTING AND THE SPREAD OF THE GOSPELIV Gutenberg's contribution to printing is discussed by Dr. John Montgomery in Mainz at the Gutenberg Museum. The invention of the printing press helped Luther's writings and the translation of the Bible. Dr. John Montgomery speaks and answers questions.

3. "LUTHER VS. MODERN SECULARISM"

Filmed at Weimar Germany which was the center of the 1 8th century German "Enlightenment" and the home of Goethe. Dr. J. Montgomery discusses whether man is the center of enlightenment or whether God is the center as Luther contended.

4. "THE TWENTIETH CENTURY: AGE OF EXTERMINATION"

VISIT by video the death camp at Buchenwald where Christians, Jews, gypsies and others were condemned to death. Luther warned us that a world without God leads to physical and eternal death. Dr. Montgomery leads the discussion.
